Ado Local Government Ward 9, in Olora, has recorded a massive turnout of eligible voters on Wednesday for the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election, and backing the re-election bid of the current Ekiti State House of Assembly Deputy Speaker, Honourable Bolaji Olagbaju Nee Egbeyemi.
Party members began accreditation peacefully from 8 a.m., with queues forming early across the ward. Ward 9 Chairman, Mrs. Falilat Akorede, described the exercise as orderly and attributed the strong turnout to the Deputy Speaker’s performance in her first term.
“She has remained accessible and committed to grassroots development,” Akorede said. “Her style of representation continues to earn support across Zones A to E in this ward.”
Ward 9 Councillor, Mr. Mayowa Ogunsakin, pointed to Olagbaju’s record over the past four years, citing eight empowerment programmes worth between ₦7 million and ₦8 million each. “Those initiatives have changed lives here. What you’re seeing today is appreciation from the people,” he said.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Ganiyu Bada said his vote was to acknowledge the lawmaker’s impact. “She has no serious opposition in this constituency because of her quality representation and how she prioritizes our welfare,” he noted.
The same momentum shifted to Ward 11, where voters also turned out in their large numbers. The Ward Chairman, Mr. Oba Adegoke, said the constituency was satisfied with Olagbaju’s performance. “This is her political base, and she hasn’t disappointed us. There’s virtually no opposition,” he said.
Mr. Kayode Alade, who also commented on the exercise, credited the peaceful atmosphere to strong cooperation among stakeholders and party members. “The overwhelming turnout shows that good governance and effective representation deserve continuity in Ado Constituency 2,” he said.
