Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, has asked the State House of Assembly to approve the reappointment of three commissioners who served in his first term and the appointment of 10 Special Advisers.
The requests were contained in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Mr Adeoye Aribasoye, on Monday.
The commissioners nominated for reappointment are the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Dayo Apata (SAN); Commissioner for Finance, Mr Akintunde Oyebode; and Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Oyebanji Filani.
Oyebanji urged the lawmakers to screen and confirm the nominees to enable them to resume their duties in his second-term administration.
The proposed reappointments are expected to ensure continuity in the administration, particularly in the justice, finance and health sectors.
The governor was inaugurated for a second term on October 16, following his re-election in the November 2022 governorship election.
The latest request comes as the administration moves to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.
Oyebanji had recently approved appointments in the power, road infrastructure and transportation sectors as part of efforts to drive development in the state.
