The Senate Leader and Chairman of the Ekiti APC 2026 Governorship Campaign Council, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, says the impressive performance of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the last three and a half years has made his re-election an easy task.
Bamidele stated this on Monday during the governor’s campaign tour of Ijero, Efon Alaaye and Aramoko Ekiti in Ijero, Efon and Ekiti West Local Government Areas respectively.
He said the programmes and policies of the Oyebanji administration had positively impacted the lives of the people, adding that residents were prepared to reward the governor with massive votes in the June 20 governorship election.
Oyebanji, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed confidence that his administration’s achievements would earn him victory with a wide margin at the poll.
The governor said his performance in office, particularly in infrastructure, education, agriculture, rural development, human capital development and workers’ welfare, had strengthened public support for his second term bid.
Addressing supporters at the rallies, Oyebanji described Ijero Local Government as a stronghold of progressives and urged party members to mobilise eligible voters at the grassroots to achieve the party’s target of 500,000 votes.
“If performance is the yardstick, we have nothing to fear because of what we have done in the areas of health, education, infrastructure, agriculture and workers’ welfare,” he said.
At Efon Alaaye, the governor highlighted projects executed by his administration and the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu, including the Alanaka Road, Efon Alaaye General Hospital, transformers, Efon-Ipole-Ikogosi Road and Primary Health Centres.
Bamidele commended Ekiti residents for supporting the governor and the APC, noting that the state had witnessed peace, unity and development under Oyebanji’s administration.
Also speaking, the State APC Chairman, Barrister Sola Elesin, and representatives of various interest groups praised the governor’s inclusive governance style and pledged support for his re-election bid.
