The Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has restated the commitment of the Biodun Oyebanji-led administration to creating an inclusive society where no one is left behind.

She gave the assurance during the official flag-off of the Prosthetic Limb Fitting Camp and Empowerment Programme for Persons with Disabilities, held at the Ekiti State Skills Acquisition Centre, New Town, Ado-Ekiti.

Dr. Oyebanji described the initiative as one that restores dignity, renews hope, and underscores the principle that “every life matters.” She noted that the state government has continued to invest in special education, employment opportunities, and disability-focused policies to promote inclusiveness.

“The true measure of any society is found in how it treats its most vulnerable. Today, as we fit limbs and extend support to 131 of our brothers and sisters across Ekiti, we are not only restoring mobility but also restoring dreams, weaving resilience into the fabric of our state.” She said.

The First Lady commended MHR. Akintunde Rotimi Jr., who represents Ekiti North I Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, for his consistent advocacy and people-centered representation, describing him as a model of empathy and action.

She also appreciated the Ishk Tolaram Foundation, the Ishk Limb Centre, ALGON Ekiti Chapter, and other partners whose collaboration made the programme possible.

Earlier in his remark, MHR. Akintunde said the initiative, themed “A Day of Hope and Dignity,” was designed to restore mobility, confidence, and opportunities for beneficiaries across the state. He explained that each of the 131 beneficiaries would not only receive a free prosthetic limb but also a ₦100,000 grant to support entrepreneurship and self-reliance.

He emphasized that his guiding philosophy of “Leaving No One Behind” extends beyond mobility to inclusion, empowerment, and dignity for all.

Messages of goodwill were also delivered by the APC Chairman of Oye Local Government, Hon Ogunsakin Samuel, and his counterpart from Ikole Local Government, Hon. Omotoso Ebenezer. Both lauded the First Lady and the lawmaker for their efforts, urging citizens to continue supporting them with prayers so their good works can endure.

Representing persons with disabilities, Dr. Ebenezer Ogunlade described the initiative as “life-changing” and a true step toward inclusivity.

The programme was widely celebrated as a landmark effort to build a more inclusive Ekiti where the voices, needs, and aspirations of persons with disabilities are given priority.
