The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI), Prof. Kolawole Ogundipe, has urged members of the hospital’s Christian community to worship God with unwavering faith and sincerity, saying that genuine devotion attracts divine honour.
Prof. Ogundipe made the call during the August edition of the monthly prayer meeting of the Joint Hospital Christian Fellowship held at the hospital’s chapel on Monday.
Addressing the congregation, the CMD stressed the importance of wholehearted commitment to the service of God, noting that every worthwhile endeavour should be pursued with excellence. He expressed concern over the low turnout of Christian faithful at the monthly prayer meeting and appealed to heads of departments and units to encourage Christian members of staff to participate actively in the fellowship and share in God’s abundant grace.
He also called on members of staff to join the chapel choir, with the aim of building a vibrant choir of at least 40 choristers. According to him, both male and female staff who appreciate the power of praise and worship should consider dedicating at least one hour each month to serving God through the choir, describing the commitment as a worthy sacrifice unto the Lord.
Earlier, the Chapel Secretary, Mr. Ogundana, charged the congregation to remain steadfast in serving God in spirit and truth while faithfully carrying out their responsibilities as health workers. He said that earning God’s approval through dedicated service is the pathway to true honour and lasting elevation.
The theme of the August prayer meeting was “Path to True Honour,” with the anchor scripture taken from John 12:26: “If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honour.”
The guest minister, Prophet F. A. Ogungboye of Ado-Ekiti, led the prayer session and prayed for God’s continued presence over the hospital, its annexes, management, and members of staff.
He encouraged the congregation to seek God’s abiding presence in their personal lives and within the hospital community, stressing that God’s presence brings divine intervention, peace, and lasting transformation.
Special prayers were also offered for the Chief Medical Director, asking God to grant him wisdom, protection, uncommon grace, and the strength to continue providing purposeful leadership for the hospital.
At the close of the programme, Prof. Ogundipe wished all members of staff a glorious, fruitful, and purposeful month of August.
