The Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Ekiti State, has congratulated the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on his resounding victory in the June 20, 2026 governorship election, describing the outcome as a strong endorsement of his visionary leadership and the remarkable achievements of his administration.
In a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti, the State President of MWAN-Ekiti, Dr Bolade Dele-Ojo, said the Governor’s re-election reflected the confidence and trust reposed in him by the people of Ekiti State. She attributed the overwhelming mandate to his people-centred and inclusive style of governance, commitment to workers’ welfare, significant investments in the healthcare sector, and deliberate efforts to promote women’s participation in governance and public service.
Dr Dele-Ojo noted that the administration’s impressive developmental strides across critical sectors had earned widespread public confidence and admiration.
“Governor Oyebanji has demonstrated exemplary leadership through his inclusive style of governance, commitment to the welfare of the people, and sustained investment in the development of Ekiti State. His re-election is a well-deserved recognition of these achievements,” she said.
While rejoicing with the Governor on the renewal of his mandate, MWAN-Ekiti expressed confidence that his second term would consolidate the gains of his first administration and usher in greater progress and prosperity for the state.
The Association appealed to the Governor to further strengthen policies and programmes that promote the meaningful participation of women in politics, governance and leadership, stressing that greater gender inclusion is essential to sustainable development and good governance.
MWAN-Ekiti also urged the Governor to prioritise increased investment in the health and well-being of women, children and families through enhanced funding for maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health services, preventive healthcare, health workforce development, and the continued strengthening of the state’s healthcare system.
“As an association of women physicians dedicated to advancing quality healthcare and promoting the well-being of women, children and communities, we look forward to strengthening our collaboration with the Ekiti State Government in delivering sustainable health interventions and supporting policies that improve the lives of all Ekiti people,” the statement added.
MWAN-Ekiti prayed that God would grant Governor Oyebanji divine wisdom, sound health and renewed strength as he begins another term of service, wishing him a successful tenure marked by peace, prosperity and enduring development across Ekiti State.
