The member representing Ido/Osi Constituency II in the Ekiti House of Assembly, Hon. Yomi Ayorinde, has been endorsed for a second term in office.
Leaders and other electorate from Usi-Ekiti, Osi-Ekiti, Ilogbo-Ekiti, and Ayetoro-Ekiti that converged on the local government party secretariat unanimously passed a vote of confidence in the member.
Ayorinde is currently the member representing the constituency, thereby endorsing him for a second term ahead of the 2026 general election in the state.
The motion for the vote of confidence was initiated by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman in Usi Ward, Mr Ebenezer Bada and seconded by Ayetoro ward 2 chairman, Mr Olasunkanmi Adeola
Mr Adewumi Aina, Presided over the session, assisted by Hon. Gbenga Agbeyo, who serves as the electoral officer.
Addressing the gathering, Mr Oyeniyi Adebayo, The Chief of Staff to Gov Biodun Oyebanji, commended the governor for his dedication to the development of Ekiti State, highlighting his impactful governance and commitment to his agenda.
Adebayo emphasised that the member of the assembly as representative of the people, took pride in the governor’s leadership and urged him to continue striving for greater accomplishments.
He thanked everybody for accepting Ayorinde’s nomination without any dissecting voice from any of the communities with the assurance that he will not disappoint them.
He solicited the electorate continued support ahead the June 20th governorship election and thanked Governor Biodun Oyebanji for making it possible for political office holders to fulfill their promises and obligations to the people of the area.
He said, “Politics aside, Mr Governor is a plain-minded personality, loving and genuine. These attributes have greatly assisted him in his performance.”
The governor’s aide sought the electorate continued support for the APC and administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, which in advertently extended to the national.
Ayorinde, a former board member of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) thanked the people for giving him a second term ticket with a promise not to disappoint them and called for continued support for the APC and Governor Biodun Oyebanji administration.
He appreciated the leaders in his constituency, as well as the leadership of the party and the people’s Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji
He thanked his constituents for believing in him to have sent him to the assembly, saying that entrusting an elected official with a second term is the greatest expression of confidence.
“I thank you all for believing in me and for sending me to the House of Assembly, and the endorsement to go for the second term.
He thanked former Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi, Senator Cyril Fasuyi,Gbenga Agbeyo, Oyeniyi Adebayo and Mrs Bunmi Oriniowo for their continued support.
He promised not to disappoint the constituents, describing the gathering as a golden opportunity not only to speak, but to seek cooperation of all.
He said that no government could solve the people’s problems alone and charged his constituents not to engage in any form of campaign for him, but to concentrate on June 20 gubernatorial election in order to record victory across all polling units.
Other speakers at the gathering commended the dedication and resourcefulness of Ayorinde and assured the people of the area that he is ever responsive to their yearnings and expectations.
They, however, solicited for their cooperation and support for what they described as, proactive and forward thinking government with high premium on the people.
