Public and private primary and secondary schools in Ekiti State are scheduled to resume on Monday, January 5, for the second term of the 2025/2026 academic session.
This was contained in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Saturday by the Ekiti State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Olabimpe Aderiye. She announced that all public and private primary and secondary schools across the state are to reopen on the stated date for the commencement of the new term.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the commitment of the state government to providing the necessary guidance and regulations to ensure excellent learning outcomes in schools.
Schools in the state had been on holiday since December following the completion of the first term of the 2025/2026 academic session and the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
Dr. Aderiye added that all teachers and learners are expected to resume on the announced date, as academic activities would commence immediately.
“The resumption is in line with the approved calendar for the academic year,” she stated.
She further noted that the resumption marks a new chapter, as students are expected to participate actively in various academic and co-curricular activities throughout the term, with the state focused on achieving a more productive year in the education sector.
