Vice President Kashim Shettima will pay a one-day working visit to Ekiti State on Tuesday, June 9, during which he will commission key infrastructure projects and perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone (EKZ).
The Vice President, who will represent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is expected to arrive at the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport, Ado-Ekiti, where he will be received by Gov. Biodun Oyebanji and other top government officials.
According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr Olayinka Oyebode, Shettima will perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the EKZ project and commission the newly constructed zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) located along Old Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti.
The Vice President will also inaugurate the 1.2-kilometre Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover at Okeyinmi, Ado-Ekiti, one of the landmark projects executed by the Oyebanji administration.
The statement recalled that Shettima had earlier visited the state in May 2024, when he inaugurated the Omisanjana–Deeper Life–Ajebandele Road and an MSME clinic in Ado-Ekiti, among other official engagements.
Oyebanji said adequate arrangements had been put in place to ensure a successful and memorable visit by the Vice President.
The governor added that strategic collaboration with the Federal Government, other sub-national governments, development partners, relevant institutions and the private sector remained central to his administration’s development agenda.
