The family of late Professor Caleb Olumuyiwa Igbalajobi has commemorated the first anniversary of his passing, describing him as a distinguished academic, community leader, mentor and devoted family man whose legacy continues to inspire many.

In a remembrance message issued on Sunday, the family expressed gratitude to God for what they described as a life well spent, noting that although a year has passed since Professor Igbalajobi’s transition on June 8, 2025, his memory remains evergreen in the hearts of family members, friends, colleagues and former students.

The family said the late scholar was renowned for his integrity, humility, excellence, compassion and unwavering commitment to the development of others, adding that his contributions to education, community service and humanity remain enduring.

According to the family, Professor Igbalajobi touched countless lives through his scholarship, faith and dedication to service, leaving behind a legacy that continues to live on through those who had the privilege of knowing and learning from him.

They stated that while his absence is deeply felt, they derive comfort from the lasting impact of his life and the belief that he rests peacefully in the bosom of the Lord.

The family also expressed profound appreciation to individuals, groups and organisations that stood by them during their period of bereavement and throughout the past year. They particularly acknowledged the support of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji; former governors Niyi Adebayo and Kayode Fayemi; Senate Leader Michael Opeyemi Bamidele; Oba Emmanuel Adesanya Aladejare and Olori Aladejare, members of Harmony Sisters, APC Elders Forum, Egbe Afenifere, APC stakeholders in Efon Alaaye, churches, associates, former students and numerous well-wishers.

The family noted that prayers, visits, words of encouragement, messages and various acts of kindness provided strength and comfort during one of the most difficult periods in their lives.

As part of the anniversary remembrance, the family urged all who knew the late professor to continue upholding the values he cherished, including faith in God, integrity, hard work, service to humanity and commitment to community development.

The remembrance message was signed by Deaconess Dupe Igbalajobi, wife; Dr Peju Daniyan and Mrs Toyin Kayode, daughters; and Dr Olumuyiwa Ayokunle Igbalajobi, son, who described him as “Forever Loved, Forever Remembered, Forever Missed.”
