The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Falade Adegoroye Micheal, has commenced an operational tour of schools across the state to strengthen security and boost the confidence of teachers and students.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Sunday Abutu, disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday in Ado Ekiti.
According to the statement, the tour is aimed at ensuring adequate security in schools across the state.
The commissioner visited Federal Government Girls’ College, Efon-Alaaye; Government College, Efon-Alaaye; Federal Technical College, Usi-Ekiti; Ekiti State Government College, Usi-Ekiti; and Ipere Comprehensive High School, Ipere-Ekiti.
Addressing the management of the various schools, the police commissioner assured them of the command’s commitment to guaranteeing maximum safety for schools in collaboration with the military, other security agencies and local security outfits in the state.
Falade also charged personnel deployed for school protection duties to remain alert, professional and respect the rights of citizens while carrying out their responsibilities.
He urged parents, teachers, students and members of the public to remain vigilant and security conscious.
The commissioner further appealed to residents to cooperate with the police by providing timely and credible information that could help prevent crimes.
