APC Declares Bamidele,Adaramodu, Fasuyi Winners of Ekiti Senatorial Primaries
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared Senate Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, Senator Cyril Fasuyi and Senate spokesman, Yemi Adaramodu, winners of the party’s senatorial primary elections held on Monday in Ekiti State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Chairman of the APC National Assembly Primary Election Committee for Ekiti State, Wasiu Adedoyin, announced the results on Monday evening in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital during the official declaration.
Adedoyin clarified at the commencement of the exercise that the gathering was “not a press briefing but strictly for the declaration of results.”
Declaring the result for Ekiti Central Senatorial District, he said Bamidele, who emerged as the sole aspirant, polled 29,586 votes in the primary election.
“Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, having satisfied the requirements of the APC Constitution and guidelines and scored the highest number of valid votes, is hereby declared winner of the primary election and returned elected as the party’s senatorial candidate for Ekiti Central Senatorial District,” Adedoyin stated.
In the Ekiti North Senatorial District primary, Adedoyin announced that Fasuyi defeated other contenders after polling 14,179 votes.
According to the results announced, Senator Ayodele Arise secured 4,868 votes, while another aspirant Dare Owolabi polled 2,836 votes and Dipo Bamisaye scored 3,694 votes.
He subsequently declared Fasuyi winner of the contest and returned him as the APC candidate for Ekiti North Senatorial District.
For Ekiti South Senatorial District, Adaramodu emerged victorious after polling 12,200 votes to defeat former Senate Minority Leader, Biodun Olujimi, who scored 7,420 votes, and former House of Representatives member, Bamidele Faparusi, who polled 5,502 votes.
Adedoyin said Adaramodu satisfied all constitutional requirements of the party and secured the highest number of votes cast in the primary election.
He thereafter declared the Senate spokesman winner and returned him as the APC senatorial candidate for Ekiti South Senatorial District.
