The Biodun Oyebanji Campaign Council has announced a statewide grassroots engagement tour across the 16 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Ekiti State ahead of the June 20 governorship election.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti by the Director of Media and Communications of the council, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, the exercise is scheduled to commence on May 4.

Olatunbosun said the tour followed the successful formal launch of the governorโ€™s re-election campaign and was aimed at deepening engagement with citizens at the grassroots.

He explained that the outreach would provide an opportunity for the campaign team to connect directly with residents, while highlighting the achievements of Gov. Biodun Oyebanjiโ€™s administration and its future plans.

According to him, the tour will begin on May 4 with visits to Ikole at 11:00 a.m. and Oye at 1:00 p.m.

He added that on May 5, the team would visit Ilejemeje at 10:00 a.m., Moba at 12:00 p.m., and Ido/Osi at 3:00 p.m., while Ekiti East and Gbonyin LGAs would be visited on May 7 at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., respectively.

The council further stated that Emure, Ise/Orun and Ikere LGAs would be toured on May 8 at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., respectively.

Olatunbosun also said that on May 11, the campaign would visit Ijero at 11:00 a.m., Efon at 2:00 p.m. and Ekiti West at 4:00 p.m., while Ekiti South West and Irepodun/Ifelodun would be visited on May 12 at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

He noted that the tour would conclude in Ado-Ekiti on May 13 at 2:00 p.m.

The director urged party members, supporters and stakeholders to remain in their respective LGAs to receive the governor and the campaign team.

He said participation in the governorโ€™s moving entourage would be restricted to approved individuals, including the Deputy Governor, Mrs Monisade Afuye, selected party officials, aides and designated supporters.

Olatunbosun added that the approved branded Ankara had been designated as the official attire for welcoming the governor in each LGA.

He reiterated the councilโ€™s commitment to a peaceful and issue-based campaign, stressing the need for decorum, mutual respect and avoidance of political attacks.

He also called on members to mobilise effectively and ensure orderly participation throughout the tour.
