The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, Mr Michael Adegoroye Falade, has felicitated with residents of the state, particularly the Christian community, on the occasion of the 2026 Easter celebration.

Falade, in a statement issued on Friday in Ado-Ekiti by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu, congratulated Christians as they commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He said that adequate security arrangements had been put in place across the state to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free celebration.

The police commissioner said he had directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), as well as operational and intelligence units, to deploy personnel to strategic locations to prevent any breach of security.

According to him, officers on duty have been instructed to remain professional and courteous to law-abiding citizens, while dealing decisively with criminal elements.

Falade assured residents of adequate security before, during and after the celebration, noting that sufficient personnel had been mobilised across the state.

He warned criminals to either turn a new leaf or stay away from the state, stressing that there would be no hiding place for them.

The commissioner also urged residents to remain vigilant and security-conscious at all times.

He advised members of the public to report any suspicious movement or incident to the nearest police station or call the command’s emergency number, 08062335577.
