The Ekiti State Police Command says it will commence activities to mark the 2026 National Police Day from March 30 to April 7.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Falade Adegoroye Michael, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Sunday Abutu, on Friday in Ado-Ekiti.

He said the week-long activities would begin on Monday, March 30, with sanitation and cleaning exercises within the state capital, alongside a free medical outreach at Oja Oba, in front of the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti Palace, at 7:00 a.m.

According to him, the second day, March 31, will feature a walkathon, also known as a road walk, scheduled to take off from the Police Headquarters, Old Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti, at 7:00 a.m.

The police commissioner added that on April 1, there would be a public sensitisation programme on electoral violence, drug abuse, cultism and safe driving at the Police Officers’ Mess Auditorium, Okesha, Ado-Ekiti, by 9:00 a.m.

He further said that activities for April 2 would include honouring fallen heroes and presentation of cheques to their families at the Police Headquarters, Old Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti, at 10:00 a.m.

Adegoroye noted that the grand finale of the celebration would hold on April 7 at Eagle Square, Abuja, featuring a ceremonial parade and tactical displays, among other activities.

He urged residents of the state to continue to support and collaborate with the police, and to participate actively in the activities, especially the free medical outreach and sensitisation programme.
