The Ekiti State Governorship Election Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Sen. Cyril Fasuyi as the Director-General of Gov. Biodun Oyebanji’s re-election campaign ahead of the June 20 governorship election.
The appointment was part of key decisions reached at the inaugural meeting of the campaign council held in Ado-Ekiti .
Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Chairman of the Council and Senate Leader, Sen. Opeyemi Bamidele, said the council also approved the creation of various directorates to drive the campaign.
Bamidele said members of the council unanimously agreed on Fasuyi’s appointment, citing his performance in the 2022 governorship election campaign.
He expressed confidence that Fasuyi would deliver improved results in the forthcoming election.
According to him, Sen. Yemi Adaramodu, representing Ekiti South Senatorial District, was appointed as the Deputy Director-General of the campaign.
He added that Chief (Mrs) Kemi Olaleye, Chief Remi Oguntuase and Mr Kayode Babade were named Assistant Directors-General for Ekiti North, Central and South Senatorial Districts respectively.
Bamidele also disclosed that the Wife of the Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, was appointed as the Coordinator of the Women’s Mobilisation Team.
