The First Lady of Ekiti State, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji has hosted the first prayer meeting of 2026 as part of efforts to formally begin the year’s activities and commit the new calendar year into the hands of God.

Addressing staff at the conference hall of her office, Dr. Oyebanji expressed profound gratitude to God for His protection and guidance throughout the previous year, acknowledging the grace that sustained the work of her office, staff and supporting units.

She commended the various departments and units for their dedication, cooperation and commitment to service, describing them as vital partners in achieving her initiatives.

The wife of the Governor encouraged staff members to make meaningful impact in 2026, urging them to remain diligent, content and open-minded.

She disclosed that personal lessons from the previous year had reinforced her belief in contentment and teamwork, stressing that “service to humanity thrives where unity and humility exist.”

Dr. Oyebanji further announced plans for a mega annual empowerment programme aimed at supporting orphans, widows and other vulnerable groups in the state, noting that the initiative would be geared towards improving livelihoods and strengthening social welfare.

She encouraged citizens to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of future elections to ensure effective participation in the country’s democratic process.

The First Lady also requested continued prayers for her family and that of the Governor as they discharge their responsibilities to the state.

During the prayer meeting and interactive session, representatives from different departments and units, including Mr. Temidara Ariyo and Mrs. Toyin Adepoju, expressed appreciation to Dr. Oyebanji for her support and benevolence, noting that working under her leadership had opened doors of opportunity and positively impacted their families.

They also thanked her for the awards presented to outstanding staff, stating that the recognition has motivated deeper commitment to service.

The session concluded with prayers led by Pastor Faith Olufidipe, who prayed for the success of all activities lined up for 2026 and for the continued protection and blessings of the First Family.
