The Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Hon. Justice Lekan Ogunmoye, has sworn in a new set of distinguished lawyers as Notary Public in a ceremony held at the Chief Judge’s Court Hall.
The event, which was attended by family members, friends, and well-wishers, marked a significant milestone in the legal careers of the newly sworn-in Notary Public.
During the ceremony, the lawyers took the oath of office, solemnly pledging to faithfully discharge their duties as Notary Public. They vowed to make accurate and truthful attestations, ensure that parties involved in any legal document are aware of its contents, and refrain from engaging in any fraudulent or deceitful activities.
The lawyers also undertook to uphold the principles of justice, integrity, and impartiality in the execution of their duties, demonstrating their commitment to upholding the highest standards of the legal profession.
In his congratulatory address, Justice Ogunmoye, acting on behalf of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, emphasized the importance of the Notary Public role, describing it as a call to duty rather than a mere celebration.
He urged the newly sworn-in lawyers to uphold the trust and confidence reposed in them and to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the highest standards of the legal profession.
Justice Ogunmoye charged them to be mindful of their responsibilities, noting that their office demands utmost integrity, diligence, and professionalism.
Barrister Olakanmi Falade, responding on behalf of the celebrants, thanked the Chief Judge for administering the oath of office to the largest number of lawyers as Notary Public in Ekiti State since its creation.
He congratulated his fellow lawyers on their achievement, acknowledging the significance of this milestone in their careers.
He pledged that they would not betray the confidence placed in them and would live up to the expectations of their office, demonstrating their commitment to excellence and service to the legal community.
The newly sworn-in Notary Public includes Ayobioloja Ayodeji Adefolajuwon, Folasade Bosede Jegede, Olatemi Anthony Olatunde, Adebayo Oluwatobi Fabamise, Funmilayo Stella Omoseinde, Olakanmi Samuel Falade, Thomas Olayiwola Obisesan, Opeyemi Stephen Ademuagun, Emmanuel Oluwaseun Familusi, and Adejemilua Sunday Jossy.
