The First Lady of Ekiti State, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has commended the leadership of Oye Local Government for its commitment to improving the welfare of residents through impactful grassroots initiatives.

She made this commendation while delivering a goodwill message at the council’s empowerment programme held in Oye-Ekiti.

Represented at the event by her Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters, Hon Toyin Adepoju, the First Lady expressed warm greetings to attendees and lauded the programme as “a celebration of purposeful leadership and genuine care for the people.”

The empowerment initiative featured the distribution of several livelihood-support items including refrigerators, generators, hair dryers, water pumps, clippers, solar fans, solar irons, motorcycles for security personnel, standing fans, cutlasses, as well as cash gifts to widows across the local government.

Dr. Oyebanji praised Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for providing a conducive environment that enables local government chairmen to execute capital projects and people-oriented programmes.

She noted that the governor’s commitment to inclusive development continues to drive progress across communities in Ekiti State.

She also applauded the Chairman of Oye Local Government, Hon. Adesola Bamisile, describing her as a visionary leader whose compassion is reflected in the empowerment initiative.

Dr. Oyebanji congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to use the items judiciously to build sustainable livelihoods.

Addressing the gathering earlier, the Chairman of Oye Local Government, Hon Adesola Bamisile confirmed that the items were provided by the Governor’s Office and assured residents that the exercise was only the first batch, with more on the way.

Also speaking, the Onire of Ekiti, Oba Victor Adeleke Bobade praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji for keeping his promises, noting that the programme reflected true grassroots development.
