The Wife of the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has celebrated her birthday in Ikogosi-Ekiti with an empowerment outreach where over 3 million naira was given to aged women as cash support and boost their economic wellbeing.

Dr. Oyebanji, who expressed gratitude for the warm reception accorded her by the women, said the gesture was part of her ongoing efforts to support grassroots women and give back to communities across the state.

She noted that empowering women remained a key priority of the present administration, as it enhances their financial independence and strengthens families.

The First Lady also encouraged the women to obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) ahead of the forthcoming election, stressing the need to support Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term in order to consolidate the developmental strides recorded in various sectors.

In his remarks, Chairman of Ekameta Council Development Area, Dr. Leye Adeniji, described Dr. Oyebanji’s steady support for the aged, widows, and youths in Ikogosi as unprecedented.

He urged residents to reciprocate the government’s goodwill by supporting the administration through their votes.

Similarly, President of the Ikogosi Progressive Union, Mr. Sola Agbaje, commended the First Lady’s thoughtfulness in choosing to celebrate her birthday with women at the grassroots, saying it reflected the administration’s commitment to citizens’ welfare.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Olori Funmilayo Olorunsola prayed for the continued success of the Governor and his family, while calling on women and youths to remain supportive of the government’s agenda.

The event featured the cutting of a birthday cake and expressions of joy and appreciation from beneficiaries, who lauded Dr. Oyebanji’s compassion, humility, and dedication to improving the lives of women across Ekiti State.
