The Ekiti State Chapter of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) has pushed for the inclusion of men in the fight for gender justice, stressing on the need for collaboration across gender lines to achieve realities of modern society.
Speaking with Journalists in Ado-Ekiti during the 2025 Law Week of the Association, the Chairperson of the State Chapter, Ayobami Olowoyo-Richards solicited for a strong call for greater involvement of men and boys in advancing gender equality and human rights.

Declaring the event opened with the theme: “The Evolving Landscape of Human Rights: The Male Ally — Engaging Men and Boys in the Fight for Gender Justice”, the wife of Ekiti state governor, Professor Olayemi Oyebanji, described gender justice as a shared human mission.
She called for continued efforts to raise a new generation of male allies who are champions of justice in their homes and communities, while commending FIDA for its consistent advocacy and service to humanity.

In their separate interviews, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dayo Apata SAN who was represented by the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary S.B.J Bamise and the Speaker , Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Stephen Adeoye Aribasoye represented by Dr Taiwo Omidoyin both pledged their continuous support for Female lawyers in the state.
The Ekiti State Chief Judge, Lekan Ogunmoye represented by Justice Blessing Ajileye noted that gender justice is necessary in the judicial system in order for both gender to co-exist for the growth and development of the state.

Delivering his lecture, a legal icon and Chieftain of All Progressive Congress (APC), Obafemi Adewale, SAN urged the state and federal government to embark on more legislations, policies and advocacy that would help women to hold positions and become relevant in the political arena.
In her keynote address, President, Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Olutoyin Abodunde also emphasised on the need for the male counterpart to
support women in the fight for gender justice, saying collaboration and not competition is the mechanism needed to reshape the society.
