The First Lady of Ekiti State, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has celebrated the birthday of her predecessor, Her Excellency Erelu Bisi Adeleye-Fayemi, describing her as a steadfast advocate for justice and a champion of women’s rights.

In a heartfelt congratulatory message, Dr. Oyebanji praised Erelu Fayemi—wife of former Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi—for her unwavering dedication to empowering women, uplifting the underprivileged, and shaping progressive policies that have left a lasting impact on Ekiti State and beyond.

“Erelu Bisi Fayemi is a rare gem whose influence continues to inspire and transform lives,” Dr. Oyebanji stated. “Her tireless efforts toward promoting gender equality and political participation among women have changed the landscape of leadership in Ekiti.”

As a passionate advocate for widows, the aged, and orphans, Dr. Oyebanji applauded Erelu Fayemi’s significant contributions to social justice, especially in her fight against gender-based violence and her role in spearheading inclusive policies like the Gender-Based Violence Prohibition Law.

“Her numerous initiatives in education, healthcare, and economic empowerment have empowered communities and given hope to the vulnerable,” the Governor’s wife added. “Erelu has not only raised her voice for the voiceless but has also acted decisively to bring real change.”

Describing her predecessor as a “pillar of strength,” Dr. Oyebanji acknowledged Erelu Fayemi’s enduring legacy of service and compassion, praying for her continued health, wisdom, and strength.

“Happy birthday to an extraordinary woman whose legacy of love, leadership, and dedication to the people of Ekiti will never be forgotten,” she concluded.
