The Chairman of the Ekiti State Education Trust Fund, Professor Caleb Olumuyiwa Igbalajobi, has passed away.

He died on Sunday, June 8, 2025.

In a statement signed by his son, Dr. Olumuyiwa Igbalajobi, Founder of Scholarships Cafe, the late educationist was described as “a man deeply committed to the principles of hard work, selfless service, integrity, and utmost dedication.”

Professor Igbalajobi was a distinguished scholar of Special Education and an unwavering advocate for access to inclusive, quality education for all.

He earned his postgraduate degrees from Fourah Bay College and completed his PhD at the University of Oregon in the 1980s.

At the time of his passing, he was actively serving his state in his recently appointed role as Chairman of the Ekiti Education Trust Fund.

A proud son of Efon Alaaye, Professor Igbalajobi dedicated decades to mentoring countless students and educators, and contributing to both national and international academic discourse.
