The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti Command, CP Joseph’ Eribo felicitated with the good people of Ekiti especially the Muslim Faithfuls on this year’s Eid-El-Kabir, while urging everyone to use this period to pray for the peace, unity and progress of our dear nation.

This was  made this known in a press statement by the Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, Mr Sunday Abutu and made available to newsmen on Thursday in Ado-EKiti.

The commissioner has directed the Area Commanders, DPOs and Tactical Commanders to deploy adequate operatives to all strategic points, places of worship and celebrations across the State to ensure there is no breakdown of law and order.

The  Safer Highway and the Anti-Crime Patrol teams were equally directed to deploy adequate personnel along major roads and highways across the State to ensure the safety of travellers, commuters and other road users.

The Commissioner instructed the personnel deployed to be firm but civil, professional and polite in carrying out their duties, while imploring citizens to continue to be law abiding and cooperate with the Police and other law enforcement agencies throughout the period of this celebration and beyond.

The Commissioner also enjoined parents and guardians to warn their wards against all acts that could jeopardize the aim of the festival or alter the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed across the State as those who shall be found wanting will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

The Command implored everyone to be security conscious, vigilant and immediately report to the nearest Police Station any untoward incident or happening observed in their locality or call  08062335577.
