Ekiti First Lady Tasks Nursing Mothers on Regular Medical Checkups

Ekiti State first lady, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has called on nursing mothers to take their health seriously by attending regular postnatal checkups, regular immunization and prioritize their children’s well-being.

She made the call during the Presentation of some items like foodstuffs and nursing mother’s kits at the Ekiti State Primary Health Center Oke Oniyo, Ado-Ekiti.

The Governor’s wife who spoke through her Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters, Hon Toyin Adepoju said the gifts was a token of support for nursing mothers, describing them as strong, resilient, and irreplaceable pillars of the family.

“These items are meant to ease the burden of child nursing and to remind you that the government sees you, values you, and stands with you. Today’s visit is a reflection of my love and commitment to your well-being.” She said.

The governor’s wife stressed the need for them to eat healthy foods so as to enable their children feed well through their breast milk.

Dr Oyebanji also appealed to pregnant women to prioritize their health by visiting and giving birth in the government health facilities.

She also coveted the support of the nursing mothers for the state Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji adding that the present administration would not relent in its efforts to prioritize the needs of Ekiti residents at all times.

Earlier in her remark, the wife of the Chairman,Ado Central LCDA, Mrs Martha Toyin -Ojo appreciated the giant strides of Governor Biodun Oyebanji being complimented by the first lady.

She described the war against Female Genital Mutilation being championed by Ekiti State First Lady as unprecedented and worthy of emulation by other first ladies in Nigeria.

Appreciating the gesture, one of the beneficiaries, Mrs Kemisola Aniyikaye applauded the benevolence of the first lady saying she package would go a long way in cushioning the economic situation of the country at the money and prayed for the success of BAO led administration.
