…accuses Bishop of levity in handling the situation
A group of concerned members of All Saints Anglican Church Ado-Ekiti has denied the existence of a cabal or warlord in the church allegedly leveled against them.
In a rejoinder to a defamatory post on the crisis rocking the church involving Venerable Oke Olanrewaju and its members, the group described it as a cacophony of lies and half-truths.
Recall that members of the church during a recent Sunday service staged a protest demanding the removal of Venerable Olanrewaju over his involvement in fetishism and other unwholesome conducts.
The aggrieved church members gathered in front of the church and insisted on not converging for service until the Bishop of the Diocese, the Right Reverend Andrew Olusola Ajayi, removed the priest.
In a 14-paragraph rejoinder, the concerned members accused the embattled cleric of gross misappropriation, conversion, and diversion of over N1M meant for youth empowerment in the church.
They further alleged that the cleric became a tyrant, polarized the church and created active factions after he was well received by members adding that his unguarded utterances led to a mass exodus of members and diversion of tithes and offerings by members to their home churches.
Speaking further, the members equally alleged that Venerable Olanrewaju introduced fetishism to the church and rearing of a poultry farm in the church premises that often released offensive stench to worshippers.
They noted that the majority of the church members stood against the removal of people’s warden and denied the reports that the church was placed under lock and key.
While revealing that their decision to hold service under the hot sun was borne out of their distrust for the Bishop, they accused him of taking with levity a matter that required urgent attention.
