The Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Prof. Abayomi Fasina on Friday has urged the graduating students of the university to embrace good character and skills.
Prof. Fasina gave the advice during the 9th convocation ceremony of university held in Oye-Ekiti campus.
The vice chancellor commended the efforts of the governing council Chairman, members and management staff for their supports towards promoting the development of the university.
He said the university under his leadership has made various achievements to create an enabling and conducive learning environment.
” As you graduate from the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, I urge you to be a good ambassador of this great citadel of learning.
” Improve on the knowledge and skills that you have learnt from our university and continue to explore other areas of your fields that can also contribute to the development of FUOYE in future.
“I wish you all success in your future endeavours and prayed that God will favour you in your field of study.
” We will continue to create good learning environment and quality teachings to improve the standard of Education in Nigeria.
” As the lord lift you up in your various chosen careers, always remember FUOYE, where your journey to greatness started from,” he said.
Fasina, however, thanked the President Bola Tinubu and Governor of Ekiti state, Mr Biodun Oyebanji for their unconditional supports towards the development of the university.
Similarly, the Chairman of the Governing Counci of the university, Sen. Victor Ndoma-Egba SAN, commended Prof. Fasina for his hardwork, commitment and determination to promote the development of the university.
Ndoma-Egba commended the graduating students for the various successes they have achieved in their fields.
He advised them to always showcase the standard, knowledge and skills acquired from the university to the world.
Ndoma-Egba prayed for parents of the graduates that their labour over their children would not be in vain.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that award of Bachelor of degrees were conferred on the graduating students in various field of study while cash prizes were given to the best graduating students.
On Saturday, honorary degrees (Honoris Causa) will be conferred on four eminent Nigerians, who had made their marks in different fields of endeavours.
