The Chairman of Environmental Protection Agency (EKSEPA) Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo has urged the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti(FUOYE) Prof. Joshua Ogunwole to give priority for community development.
Oguntoyinbo gave the advice during a welcome party organised for the Vice Chancellor by Oye Progressive Union(OPU) on Saturday in Oye-Ekiti.
The EKSEPA boss who is the Obalodo of Oye Kingdom congratulated Ogunwole for becoming the 5th substantive vice chancellor of FUOYE.
He urged him to build staff residential apartments to ease the stress of the workers of university travelling on daily basis.
Oguntoyinbo, who prayed for God’s wisdom for the vice chancellor, assured him that the indigenes would give him unconditional support during his tenure.
“I want to urge our amiable vice chancellor of FUOYE, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole to give priority to community development.
“FUOYE has been established over 14 years ago and yet it does not have residential apartments for staff, I am appealing that a conducive accommodations should be built for staff of the university.
” As one of the prominent sons of Oye-Ekiti, I want to assure you that we will give you unconditional support during your administration and God will guide your footsteps,” he said.
Responding, the FUOYE Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joshua Ogunwole thanked the traditional ruler, chiefs and indigenes of Oye Kingdom for their unwavering support.
He said a committee has been set up to look into the construction of staff residential apartments, adding that within four years all management staff including himself would have a befitting accomodations on campus.
Ogunwole assured the Oloye of Oye-Ekiti, Oba Oluwole Ademolaju, that he will fulfill all his promises and make the town proud during and after his tenure.
” With the support of the Almighty God, I will uphold the confidence and trust Oye Kingdom indigenes have for me.
” Within four years, all management staff will have residential apartments on campus and I will ensure that my administration give priority to community development and engagement.
” I want to assure you that you will be happy with my administration after my five years tenure,” he said.
