The Forum of Former Vice Chairmen and Councillors who served during the administration of former Governor Segun Oni has congratulated Gov. Biodun Oyebanji on his landslide victory in the recently concluded Ekiti governorship election.
The forum described the victory as a clear indication of the confidence and trust reposed in the governor by the people of the state, citing his leadership qualities, humility and performance in office.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti, the Public Relations Officer of the forum, Prince Dayo Olofinniyi, said the outcome of the election reflected the widespread acceptance of Oyebanji’s administration across the state.
Olofinniyi commended the governor for his inclusive style of governance, commitment to the welfare of the people and developmental projects spread across various parts of the state.
According to him, Oyebanji has demonstrated exemplary leadership and has remained faithful to his promises, earning the admiration and support of Ekiti residents.
He described the governor as a true Omoluabi and a promise keeper whose dedication to good governance had endeared him to the people and contributed significantly to his electoral success.
The forum, however, appealed to the governor not to forget former vice chairmen and councillors in the area of their outstanding emoluments, expressing confidence that the issue would receive favourable consideration.
“We are optimistic that Gov. Oyebanji, who is known for his compassion and concern for the welfare of the people, will look into the matter and address it appropriately,” Olofinniyi said.
The forum prayed for divine wisdom, strength and guidance for the governor as he begins another four-year term in office, urging him to continue pursuing policies that would advance the development of Ekiti State.
It also reaffirmed its support for the Oyebanji administration and wished the governor and members of the BAO political family greater success in future political engagements.
