The Ekiti 100 Scholar Mentorship Programme has congratulated Gov. Biodun Oyebanji on his re-election in the June 20 governorship election, describing his victory as a reflection of the confidence reposed in him by the people of Ekiti State.
In a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, the Founder of the Muyiwa Igbalajobi Foundation and Convener of the Ekiti Scholarship Summit, Dr. Olumuyiwa Igbalajobi, said the governor’s victory signified a new chapter of continuity, progress and development for the state.
Igbalajobi said the outcome of the election demonstrated the trust Ekiti residents had in Oyebanji’s leadership, vision and commitment to good governance, adding that the mandate was an affirmation of a governance model built on integrity, accountability and service.
He noted that the governor’s achievements in office and his people-centred approach to governance had earned him widespread support across the state, resulting in the overwhelming electoral victory.
The scholar mentorship programme also reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with the state government in promoting educational advancement and youth development, which it described as critical to the sustainable growth of Ekiti.
According to Igbalajobi, the Ekiti 100 Scholar Mentorship Programme was established following the recently concluded Ekiti Scholarship Summit jointly sponsored by the Muyiwa Igbalajobi Foundation and Scholarships Cafe.
He explained that the initiative was designed to mentor 100 outstanding youths annually from the 16 local government areas of the state, preparing them to secure fully funded Master’s and PhD scholarships at leading universities across the world.
The programme, he said, currently has a 2026 cohort supported by 20 distinguished mentors from different parts of the world and enjoys the backing of the Ekiti State Government under the leadership of Gov. Oyebanji.
Igbalajobi added that the initiative aims to support 5,000 students and mentor 500 scholars by 2031, thereby producing a new generation of globally competitive leaders capable of contributing to the development of Ekiti State and Nigeria.
He prayed for wisdom, strength and divine guidance for the governor as he begins another term in office, expressing optimism that the administration would deliver greater development and prosperity to the people of the state.
