The wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, has charged members of the BAO Women Professional Group to intensify grassroots mobilization efforts by identifying and encourage at least 20 eligible voters each to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election.

Dr Oyebanji gave the charge during the “One Professional, 20 Voters” Strategic Mobilization Rally held at the Fajuyi Pavilion, Ado-Ekiti.

Addressing thousands of professional women drawn from various sectors across the state, the Governor’s wife urged them to work diligently for the re-election of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, stressing that the forthcoming election presents an opportunity to sustain the developmental strides recorded under the current administration.

She noted that the mobilisation initiative became imperative as the campaign for the governor’s second term gathers momentum, describing the Oyebanji administration as people-centred and development-focused.

According to her, the achievements of the administration are evident across critical sectors, including infrastructure development, human capital advancement, youth empowerment, agriculture, education, healthcare, workers’ welfare, pension administration, women’s empowerment and social intervention programmes.

“The impact of this administration is visible in every part of Ekiti State. Governor Oyebanji has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a genuine commitment to the welfare of the people. It is therefore important for us to ensure the continuity of this good governance”. She said.

Dr Oyebanji further urged the women to move beyond social media advocacy and engage directly with residents at the grassroots level.

She encouraged them to visit communities, interact with neighbours and colleagues and mobilise families and friends to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election.

In their goodwill messages, Chairman of the BAO Women Professional Committee, Dr Bolanle Adeoluwa; Chairperson of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Ekiti State, Mrs Bade Gboyega; Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Peju Babafemi; and Commissioner for Education, Dr Bimpe Aderiye, among others, emphasized the strategic role of professional women in shaping the political future of the state.

They urged participants to leverage their influence and networks to mobilise voters and secure victory for the APC at the polls.

The rally attracted a large turnout of professional women from diverse fields, who pledged to deliver their respective polling units for the ruling party in the forthcoming governorship election.
