The wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, has expressed gratitude to the people of Ekiti State for the overwhelming support shown to her husband during the flag-off of the governorship campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking with journalists shortly after the campaign event, Dr Oyebanji described the massive turnout as a clear endorsement of the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, noting that the people’s presence reflected their appreciation of his performance in office.

According to her, the enthusiastic participation of residents from across the state demonstrated that the governor’s achievements in his first term have resonated positively with the populace.

“I am deeply delighted by the show of love from Ekiti people. The crowd we witnessed today is a testament to the fact that the governor’s good works are speaking for him,” she said.

The First Lady further assured the people that her husband remains committed to fulfilling his campaign promises, stressing that he has not deviated from the developmental agenda outlined at the beginning of his administration.

She added that a second term would usher in even more impactful projects aimed at improving the welfare of the citizens and accelerating development across the state.

Other prominent figures who spoke at the event also threw their weight behind the governor’s re-election bid. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students’ Matters, Mr Sunday Asefon, the Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Bolaji Olagbaju, former Ambassador Eniola Ajayi, and an aide to the governor, Tunji Aribasoye, all commended the administration’s strides.

They unanimously affirmed that Governor Oyebanji has significantly transformed Ekiti State through various developmental initiatives, insisting that his performance justifies the call for a second term in office.

The campaign flag-off, which attracted a large crowd of party faithful and supporters across all professions and organizations, is seen as a strong indication of the ruling party’s confidence ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
