EKSU VC solicits for autonomous funding of institution’s financial needs

The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University (EKSU) , Prof. Joseph Ayodele has appealed to philanthropists and notable investors to donates for the needs of the university.

Prof. Ayodele made the appeal on Tuesday during a press conference to herald the activities lined up for the 30th convocation of the University in Ado-Ekiti.

He said in spite of the numerous achievements of his administration and the unconditional support of the State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji and the governing council, the university still lack some notable infrastructures.

The vice chancellor noted that the College of Medicine Department was financially driven, capital intensive and needs autonomous funding.

He explained that every departments in the institution needs equipment, upgraded infrastructure while the university needs buses, hotels and financial supports.

Ayodele urged interested investors and philanthropists to be free to meet with the management of the institution on ways to achieve their desired goals.

“I want to passionately appeal to notable investors and philanthropists to donates and fund some of our departmental and infrastructural needs.

” Both the state governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji and the governing council have been generous and wonderful towards meeting the needs of the management team, staff and students.

” I want to sincerely thanked our amiable governor for increasing our subvention, we are utmost grateful.

” Also I want to appreciate our governing council led by Prof.Akin Oyebode for their unwavering support towards the development of the university,” he said.

Prof. Ayodele assured the staff and students that his administration would continue to provide enabling environment and good security network to improve the standard of learning of the institution.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a total number of 10, 959 graduates of the university will be conferred with Diploma, Bachelor degrees and Higher degrees during the 30th convocation scheduled to hold on April,10.

While conferment of Post Graduate Diploma, Masters and Doctorate and Honorary degrees will hold on April,11 at the university main auditorium.
