Residents of Okemesi-Ekiti, Headquarters of Okemesi-Ido-Ile LCDA of Ekiti State are now in high spirits ahead of this Saturday’s hosting of the popular Cultural Heritage festival, which comes with the appearance of a Yoruba most prominent masquerade, Oladunwo.

This is just as a prominent indigen of the town, who doubles as Balogun of Okemesi-Ekiti and Chairman of the central Organising Committee of the festival, Chief Akin Osuntokun, said Ladunwo festival is worth celebrating because of it’s uniqueness

Investigation around the ancient town gave an indication that it has been celebration galore, since the beginning of the week, as masquerades from various quarters ,in their glowing colours, dazzle, as well as entertain residents, in readiness for the great Oladunwo, regarded as father of all masquerades, this coming Saturday.

It was learnt that while various home have since been receiving their sons and daughters who traveled down home to watch the Oladunwo Masquerade, virtually all hotels, guest houses and rest houses, including events centres have been fully booked.

He described Oladunwo Cultural Festival as a rallying point for Okemesi indigens, both home and abroad.

“Ladunwo masquerade festival has largely been described as a major rallying point to the people of Okemesi-Ekiti”.

The former Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) one-time Presidential Adviser on Political Affairs, and lately, the Director-General of Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, said over time, the celebration of Ladunwo masquerade festival had become a major rallying point, as well as point of attraction to the the community and Ekiti in general.

He therefore urged both residents and visitors to throng out in large number on Saturday to witness the showcase of Ladunwo, which he said, comes only once in every three years.
