The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed confidence in a massive turnout of supporters at its presidential campaign rally in Ekiti, saying residents are enthusiastic about receiving the campaign team.
The Secretary of the Directorate of Organising, Prof. Tunji Asaolu, expressed the optimism while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday at the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion, venue of the rally.
Asaolu said the level of enthusiasm among residents was encouraging, adding that the people were prepared to give the campaign team a warm reception.
He said members of the organising team had been in the state for two days to assess preparations and ensure a successful outing.
“We have moved around, and we have been here for the past two days. What we have seen so far is impressive. The people of Ekiti State are in high spirits and ready to receive the campaign team,” he said.
He commended Gov. Biodun Oyebanji for providing a conducive atmosphere and supporting the preparations for a successful rally.
The APC chieftain said adequate security arrangements had also been made, with relevant agencies deploying personnel to strategic locations within and around the venue.
A visit by NAN to the Ekiti Parapo Pavilion showed that the venue had been decorated with campaign posters, banners and other materials, while security personnel were stationed at strategic points.
Asaolu recalled the strong support recorded by the APC in Ekiti during the 2023 presidential election, expressing optimism that the state would repeat the gesture in the forthcoming political engagement.
He urged residents and party supporters to turn out in large numbers to demonstrate their support for the party and President Bola Tinubu.
He expressed confidence that the rally would further strengthen the APC’s political presence in the state.
