A Vice Chairman of Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Mrs Ogunleye Grace, who was allegedly kidnapped on May 20, has been rescued unhurt.
The Ekiti State Police Command disclosed this in a security update issued on Thursday.
According to the command, the victim regained freedom following a joint rescue operation involving the Police, the Military, other security agencies and local security personnel.
It stated that the security team intensified efforts and mounted pressure on the suspected kidnappers, leading to the successful rescue of the victim.
The Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State, CP Falade Adegoroye Micheal, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the abduction and identify those responsible.
