Members of the Ekiti State Executive Council (EXCO) have donated N100 million to support the re-election campaign of Governor Biodun Oyebanji ahead of the June 20 governorship election.

The donation was made on Wednesday during a brief meeting held at the State Executive Council Chamber, Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti.

The EXCO members described the contribution as a token of their love, loyalty and commitment to the governor’s second term bid.

Presenting the donation on behalf of other members, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, alongside the Special Adviser on Political Matters, Chief Jide Awe, said they were proud to serve in the administration.

They noted that the gesture reflected their collective appreciation of the governor’s leadership style and developmental strides across the state.

According to them, the council members remain resolute in their commitment to ensuring Oyebanji’s victory at the polls, expressing optimism that he would secure a second term in office.

Responding, Oyebanji expressed profound gratitude to the EXCO members for what he described as a remarkable show of solidarity and support.

The governor said the donation was unprecedented, noting that no previous executive council in the state had made such a significant contribution toward a sitting governor’s re-election campaign.

He added that the gesture would further motivate him to continue delivering good governance and justify the confidence reposed in him by his team.

Also speaking, the Chief of Staff to the Governor and Secretary to the Campaign Council, Mr Niyi Adebayo, confirmed receipt of the donation into the campaign account.

Similarly, the Coordinator of the EXCO Welfare Committee, Prof. Akeem Azeez, commended members for their generosity, stating that their contributions made the donation possible.
