Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo, the Chairman of Ekiti State Environmental Protection Agency (EKSEPA) has called for unity, stronger support for indigenes of the community aspiring for political positions in the state.
Chief Oguntoyinbo, who is the Obalodo of Oye Kingdom made the appeal during the 2026 Idofin Youth Harvest and Meritorious Award ceremony held on Friday in Oye-Ekiti.
He urged the indigenes of the community to sustained development efforts and stronger support for local initiatives.
Oguntoyinbo, who served as the Father of the Day at the event, commended the youths of Idofin Quarters for organising the programme, describing it as a commendable step towards promoting growth and development in the community.
He urged them not to relent but to sustain the spirit of togetherness and commitment to projects that would have a lasting impact on the development of the community.
Oguntoyinbo stressed the importance of doing good and contributing meaningfully to community development, especially through the provision of basic amenities and support for one another.
” I want to sincerely appeal to the sons and daughters of Oye Kingdom to support our people contesting for political positions.
” If we have a notable individuals at the National Assembly and House of Representatives, we will all enjoy dividends of democracy in our community.
” I want to commend Idofin youth association for organising this laudable ceremony to celebrate indigenes who have contributed to the development of our community,” he said.
The traditional Chief appealed to sons and daughters of the town living in the diaspora to always give back to their roots by investing in projects that would improve the welfare of their people.
The EKSEPA boss warned residents and indigenes against backstabbing and writing of unwarranted petitions that could hinder the chances of producing political leaders from the community.
He, however, urged continued support for the State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, while encouraging collective efforts towards the overall development of Oye- Ekiti.
