As part of the events marking the Nigeria Police Week which commenced on 2nd April, 2025 and the grand finale of the 2025 National Police Day, the Ekiti State Police Command today, embarked on a road walk and fitness exercise from the State Headquarters all through Basiri to Fajuyi area of Ado-Ekiti and back to the State Headquarters.

This is made known in a press statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr Sunday Abutu and made available to newsmen on Monday in Ado-Ekiti.

The exercise, which commenced at 07:00hrs, was attended by Officers that cut across all ranks, including the Ekiti State Police Medical Services and the Police Band.

The exercise was aimed at promoting physical fitness, reducing stress and maintaining healthy living, not excluding the commemoration of the Fallen Heroes of the Nigeria Police Force, as well as demonstrating our commitment to the protection of lives and property of all Citizens.

Speaking after the exercise on behalf of the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of Operations, DCP Nyatse Tanimu, commended the Officers who participated in the exercise, while reiterating the Command’s commitment to ensuring maximum security for all the law abiding Citizens.

He equally prayed God grants the Fallen Heroes of the Nigeria Police Force external rest, while wishing those still in active service and those who are retired a good health, success and divine protection.
