Empowerment

Mr Yomi Ayorinde, member representing Ido/Osi Constituency II in the Ekiti house of assembly has empowered 200 residents of the area with edibles and cash assistance, totalling over N5m.

Ayorinde, whose empowerment programme and stakeholders’ meeting is the 5th in the series, held on Wednesday at Usi-Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti, called on them to always cultivate the habits of giving and ensure they put smiles on faces of the people on daily basis.

The former board member of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) thanked the people for coming out in large number during the build up to Governor’s primary.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Biodun Oyebanji for making it possible for him to fulfill his promises and obligations to the people of the area and sought their continued support for the APC and administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, which in advertently extended to the national.

He thanked the residents of the area for believing in him to have sent him to the assembly, saying, “I thank you all for believing in me and for sending me to the House of Assembly.

“I am called ‘Honourable’ because of your belief in me. I thank you for this and I promise not to ever disappoint you, a gathering of this nature is a golden opportunity not only to speak, but to seek cooperation of all, saying that no government could solve the people’s problems alone.

“Today, each of the 200 beneficiaries, including widows and less privileged, would go home with a cash gift of N10,000, 3kg gas cylinder, 5kg of rice, while 50 leaders would receive 50kg of rice in the spirit of the season.

Also speaking, Messrs Niyi Adebayo, Chief of staff to the Governor, who also declared the empowerment open, Hon femi Bobade, Senior Special Assistance to the Governor and Lawrence Ayodimeji, former Ido/Osi local government chairman and currently Special Assistance to the Governor, commended Ayorinde for taken empowerment to the grassroots.

Describing Ayorinde’s action as “Governance In Action: The Gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” was meant to highlight the tangible benefits of governance coming during the administration of President Bola Tinubu and replicated by the state governor, Biodun Oyebanji, and getting to the grassroots through the house of Assembly representative.

“This was in alignment with the Renewed Hope Initiative of President Bola Tinubu. Under his dynamic leadership, our nation has witnessed an inspiring transformation; a renewal of the national spirit and a reinvention of the Nigerian state.

“Today, we stand before you to celebrate these tangible achievements, to affirm our commitment to good governance and to reaffirm that our Renewed Hope is not merely a slogan, but a call to action and a vision in progress,”the trio submitted

In their speech, Gbenga Agbeyo, SSA to the Governor on Human Capital and Documentation, Dele Omoleye, Chairman ido/osi LG and Akin Oso, the immediate past house of assembly member from the constituency, urged other members of the Assembly to tap from the gesture of Ayorinde.

“As we gathered here, we expect each representatives of other constituencies to step forward and put smiles in the face of the people that voted for them.

They commended the dedication and resourcefulness of Ayorinde and assured the people of the area that he is ever responsive to their yearnings and expectations, soliciting for their cooperation and support for what they described as, proactive and forward thinking government with high premium on the people.

Other leaders from Usi-Ekiti, Osi-Ekiti, Ilogbo-Ekiti, and Ayetoro-Ekiti, witnessed the empowerment.
