The Worldsmith Life Builders Foundation (WOLIBUF) joined Ekiti State First Lady, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, and partner organisations Tuesday in a solidarity advocacy walk marking the conclusion of the 2025 #16DaysOfActivism Against Violence Against Women and Girls.

The event in Ado-Ekiti drew civil society groups, government agencies, women’s rights advocates and community leaders, all united in calling for the elimination of gender-based violence across Ekiti State and Nigeria.

WOLIBUF, an Ado-Ekiti-based Non-Governmental Organisation, described its participation as an honour and a reaffirmation of its commitment to protecting the rights, safety and dignity of women and girls.

WOLIBUF Executive Director, Mrs. Olukemi Akinleye reiterated the organisation’s resolve to continue implementing programmes and interventions aimed at eliminating violence against women and girls.

“We at Worldsmith Life Builders Foundation were honoured to stand alongside partner organisations and passionate advocates, led by the inspiring First Lady of Ekiti State, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji,” the organisation stated. “Our commitment to ending all forms of violence against women and girls is unwavering and non-negotiable. Together, we rise, speak out, and take action.”

“We will continue to collaborate with stakeholders, empower survivors, and strengthen community awareness initiatives,” Akinleye said, outlining the foundation’s long-term strategy to combat gender-based violence in Ekiti State.

The #16DaysOfActivism, observed globally from November 25 to December 10, focuses on advocacy, awareness, and collective action to end violence against women and girls. This year’s closing activities in Ekiti emphasised the critical role of partnership, community mobilisation and sustained advocacy in building a safer society.

WOLIBUF, a long-standing advocate for women’s rights, expressed optimism that continued collaboration between government and civil society will drive meaningful change in the fight against gender-based violence.
