The International Federation of Women Lawyers , Ekiti Branch, has emphasized the critical role of men and boys as partners in promoting gender equality and advancing human rights in Nigeria.
This was stated by the Chairperson of FIDA Ekiti, Ayobami Olowoyo-Richards, during the FIDA Ekiti 2025 Law Week held at the Aare Afe Babalola Bar Centre, High Court Premises, Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Olowoyo-Richards noted that the event aims to spotlight how everyone can collaborate to deepen conversations and share insights on gender justice, inspiring transformative action for sustainable development.
In her remarks, the Wife of the Ekiti State Governor, Prof. Olayemi Biodun Oyebanji, who declared the FIDA Week open, stated that the fight for gender justice is not a struggle against men, but a partnership with them to build a fairer world for all.
She also reaffirmed her commitment to upholding women’s rights and strengthening the fight for gender justice in the state.

Also speaking, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Ekiti State, Dayo Apata, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice, Sunday Bamise, noted that the future of gender justice lies in transforming systems, mindsets, cultural norms and structures that create gaps in achieving gender equality.

The event, which also featured a fundraising segment, brought together dignitaries including the Commissioner of Police, Joseph Eribo, past and present leaders of FIDA Ekiti, law students, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders.
