Parentage, environment, and self-reasoning are the invisible architects of every human journey.
For some, being born into the embrace of wealth, luxury, and cosiness can inadvertently dim their appreciation for life’s simpler virtues, sometimes even hardening their hearts.

Others, blessed by distinguished lineage, might begin to see themselves as demi-gods, their ego swelling with their birthright. Then there are those who, upon finding sudden wealth or fame, transform into Lords of the Manor, looking down upon those who once walked beside them.

But then, there is Rt. Hon. Bolaji Egbeyemi Olagbaju, the Deputy Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly. The daughter of the revered late Chief Bisi Egbeyemi, former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State under Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Hon. Olagbaju stands in stark contrast to these narratives.

She has steadfastly refused to let her privileged parentage or the circumstances of her birth cast a shadow over her profound sense of responsibility towards her friends, peers, and the political community she serves. Indeed, she embodies what it truly means to be an Omo Inu Ogba – one who uses their fortunate beginnings not for self-aggrandizement, but for the greater good.

Born with what many would call a silver spoon, Rt Hon. Bolaji Egbeyemi Olagbaju was steeped in an environment of influence and opportunity.

Her late father, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, was not just a politician but a distinguished legal mind who served Ekiti State with unwavering dedication.

This background offered her a foundation many only dream of, yet, crucially, she never allowed it to swell her head or detach her from reality. Instead, she leveraged this upbringing to cultivate a keen sense of purpose and a deep understanding of societal needs, becoming a paragon of how privilege can be channeled for public benefit.

Her most striking attribute is her uncommon humility. It’s a quiet strength that belies a remarkably brilliant and intelligent mind. While unassuming, her analytical prowess is potent and critical, enabling her to navigate the often-turbulent waters of political leadership with clarity and foresight.

This sharp intellect, grounded by her down-to-earth nature, has become the hallmark of her political career.

She is a testament to the idea that true influence comes not from pedigree alone, but from genuine intellect and character.

Rt. Hon. Bolaji Egbeyemi Olagbaju is a beacon of political responsibility, tirelessly serving her Ado Constituency 2 with a commitment that resonates deeply with her constituents.

Her close rapport with the people of Ado is not feigned; it’s a genuine connection built on consistent engagement and a deep understanding of their needs. This dedication isn’t just about showing up; it’s about making a difference, setting an example for others born into similar circumstances.

Her commitment to service extends far beyond the legislative chambers. In a truly impactful gesture that speaks volumes, she recently provided water to her community. This act, simple yet profound, embodies the timeless wisdom that “whoever provides water brings life.” It underscores her focus on tangible development and a direct, positive impact on the lives of her people, demonstrating that for her, leadership is about solving real-world problems – a true mark of an Omo Inu Ogba who understands the essence of practical service.

Her humility is second to none, a truly refreshing quality in today’s political arena. Coupled with her meticulous approach to work and proactive thinking, she is a respected and effective leader.

She exhibits unwavering loyalty to her party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), embodying its core virtues. Furthermore, she is a dedicated disciple of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, aligning herself seamlessly with the state’s vision and development agenda, proving that loyalty and principles can coexist with an advantaged background.

Before ascending to her current role as Deputy Speaker in the 7th Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Bolaji Egbeyemi Olagbaju honed her skills in public service. She served diligently as a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Empowerment during Dr. Kayode Fayemi’s administration, a role she gracefully resigned from to contest for her Assembly seat.

This invaluable experience provided her with a granular understanding of governance and public administration, further solidifying her pragmatic and people-centric approach to leadership, ensuring her Omo Inu Ogba status translated into tangible administrative competence.

In essence, Rt. Hon. Bolaji Egbeyemi Olagbaju’s journey is a powerful testament to character over circumstance. She stands as a living example of how a profound sense of self, coupled with an unyielding commitment to public service and a genuine connection to one’s roots, can transform a privileged beginning into a legacy of impactful leadership.

She is a perfect example of an “Omo Inu Ogba to kogbodo si isu you” (a child from the garden who doesn’t spoil the yam). For she has been a humble, intelligent, and fiercely dedicated public servant who continues to shape the welfare of her people and drive the progress of Ekiti State.

Blessed be the day she was born.
Blessed is the man who sowed her seed (RIP though).
Blessed is the womb that delivered her.
Greater her as she shall soar beyond our imagination.

Signed,
Wale Ojo-Lanre Esq
Usi Ekiti.
