International Federation of Women’s Lawyers,FIDA EKiti Chapter has celebrated the annual Children’s Day with new borns and expectant mothers at Adeomi Primary Health Care Centre,Iyin-EKiti.
This is in commemoration of 2025 Children’s Day, celebration on May 27 , themed:
Stand up, Speak Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation “.

The event focused on honoring newborns and expectant mothers.
The FIDA Chairperson, Ayobami Olowoyo-Richards, Esq educated the mothers and expectant mothers on the rights and
raising awareness about the dangers and legal implications of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), child labour, and other harmful practices that violate children’s rights.

She encouraged the mothers and all attendees to report cases of Female Genital Mutilation, FGM and child abuse to the appropriate authorities and quarters.

The Chairperson and her teams thereafter informed the people about the legal measures in place to protect children.
Representing the Kabiyesi of Iyin Ekiti, Oba Adeola Adeniyi Ajakaiye, the Oluyin of Iyin, High Chief Okunola Dele Augustine, who also chairs the committee on health facilities commended FIDA for hosting the first ever Children’s Day celebration of its kind in the community.
The Monarch who warmly received the FIDA delegations described the event as highly enlightening for the people of Iyin Ekiti.
Highlights of the event was the distribution of baby care items to newborns.

The mothers and healthcare workers, who could not contain their joy expressed heartfelt appreciation to FIDA Ekiti for their meaningful and impactful gesture and presence.
Other FIDA members at the event were:
Barr. Busayo Adekeye , Barr. Shirley Atane who talked about FGM and legal consequences, Barr Awe Adeola Blessing , the Assistant Secretary talked about child Labour and discipline , Mrs Oluwatoyin Odunayo, former Chairperson of FIDA Ekiti also encouraged birth control and good morals.
Others were: Ayodele Yetunde Bunmi Treasurer Esq Treasurer, Mrs Jesutola Tobi-Mulero , Publicity Secretary, Barr. Oyeyemi Omolayo, Barr. Tosan Odudu were all FIDA members in attendance
