The Chairman of Ekiti Boxing Association, Mr Israel Adesokan, on Tuesday has assured the state government and sports stakeholders that the boxing team would win gold medals for Ekiti in the forthcoming National Sports Festival.
Adesokan gave the assurance during a boxing trials held at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium in Ado-Ekiti in preparation for the sports festival scheduled to hold in May in Ogun state.
The trials features boxers from Ondo, Lagos state and Federal Capital territory(FCT) in various categories and Ekiti boxers emerge victorious in the competition.

Adesokan congratulated the boxers on their impressive performances and assured them that the association would produce a formidable team that would make Ekiti proud at the forthcoming National Sports Festival.
He commended the state governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji for prioritising sports development in the state.
Adesokan also lauded the effort of Dr Olusola Osetoba, Technical Advisor to the Governor on Sports Development, for her invaluable support and guidances.
Similarly, the Secretary of the association, Mr Ayodeji Olowolafe, said the next round of the trials would take place in few weeks.
Olowolafe added that the selected boxers would embark on a closed camping programme for proper training to enhance their skills and team work.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that during the trials, Oluwakemi David defeated Olaleye Sakiru in the 57kg category
Omotola Wole secure a win against Bamidele Qudus in the 70kg category, and Alade Tobi defeated Agboola Tomisin in the female category.
In a thrilling turn of events, Esan Michael knocked out Ogunbiyi Solomon, while Agboola Victor defeated Bamidele Qudus.
As the trials continue, Ekiti boxers would have two more opportunities to display their skills and secure a spot on the state team.
Ekiti boxers are currently determined to give their best and make the state proud.
