Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has promised to collaborate with a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Triumphant Redeemer Glorious Centre (TRGC), to alleviate poverty among the youths in the state.
The Ekiti State First Lady made the disclosure while playing host to the NGO based in the United States of America (USA) in her office in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
Dr. Oyebanji who intimated the NGO team of her empowerment project, Widows and Orphans Hope (WAOH), also said that she has another project, tagged “Keep Girls in School” which has helped to keep female students in school.
She appreciated the NGO for giving back to the society especially coming from the United States of America to empower the youths in the state.
Also, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Peju Babafemi, appreciated the NGO for their passion for the state saying this was in harmony with the initiative of the Governor in ensuring that the youths were well empowered.
In his submission, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Gold Adedayo appreciated the efforts of the NGO and for choosing Ekiti State for such empowerment project.
Earlier, the NGO team leader, Mrs. Bunmi Makinde, said her passion for human development was the motivating factor behind her giving back to the society.
Mrs. Makinde, who is an Ekiti indigene, listed some of her achievements since she got to the state to include, donation to orphanage homes, equipping library with books in compliance with with International standards, installation of gymnastics facilities for children and youths among others.
She solicited the support of the wife of the Governor in ensuring a safe stay to achieve the organisational goals.
