The NYSC Ekiti State has taken its quarterly health programme, Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers, which was launched in the year 2014 as a platform for the Scheme to contribute to the wellbeing of indigents person at the grassroots, to Ifaki Ekiti.
The outreach took place at the Palace of the Foremost Traditional Ruler of Ifaki, HRM Oba Adegbenro John Falore (Ajigbade III).
In his address, the Kabiyesi lauded the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC); Ekiti State for considering his town as the beneficiary for 2023 first quarter of the Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD) programme.
The monarch eulogized the initiative, describing it as one which attends to and alleviates the medical challenges faced by the people living in the rural areas. He therefore summoned his subjects to come out enmasse and benefit from the Initiative.
Singling out Director-General of NYSC, Brigadier-General YD Ahmed for appreciation, the monarch stated that his people will continue to pray for the scheme for bringing medical succour to their doorstep.
‘I want you to convey my message to the Director General and the State Coordinator of the NYSC that we really appreciate this gesture and we pray to have more robust relationship with the NYSC. I am using this medium to tell all corps members in Ifaki that they should see Ifaki as their home. We assure them that the hospitality they will get in Ifaki, they wouldn’t get it elsewhere in the country. We pass through the system and we cannot work against the system that we were once a beneficiary of. When I got the notice of this exercise, I key into it immediately because I knew the importance,’ he said.
