The Muyiwa Igbalajobi Foundation has announced the launch of the second edition of the Caleb and Funmilayo Igbalajobi Memorial Award (CFIMA 2027), designed to recognise outstanding young graduates from Ijero, Efon and Ekiti West Local Government Areas of Ekiti.
The award honours the memory of Professor Caleb Igbalajobi and Mrs Funmilayo Igbalajobi, while supporting young people who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership potential and commitment to community service.
According to a statement by the foundation, the 2027 edition will provide each selected recipient with a cash prize of N300,000 and scholarship mentorship support valued at 3,000 dollars.
It said the mentorship component would assist beneficiaries in accessing global educational opportunities and career development pathways.
The founder of the foundation, Dr Olumuyiwa Igbalajobi, said the award was a continuation of his parents’ commitment to education, excellence and service.
“The Caleb and Funmilayo Igbalajobi Memorial Award is a continuation of my parents’ lifelong commitment to education, excellence, and service,” he said.
Igbalajobi said the initiative was aimed at creating opportunities for exceptional young graduates to pursue their aspirations, develop leadership capacity and contribute meaningfully to society.
The statement said the first edition of the award recognised five outstanding graduates from Ijero, Efon and Ekiti West Local Government Areas, providing them with financial support, mentorship and opportunities for further growth.
It said applications for the 2027 edition would open on Oct. 1 and close on Nov. 30, adding that eligible candidates were expected to demonstrate achievements in academics, leadership and community impact.
The foundation said further details on eligibility criteria, application requirements and submission guidelines would be made available through its official channels.
It reaffirmed its commitment to promoting education, mentorship and opportunities for young people through scholarship initiatives, leadership programmes and community development projects.
